Kenney & Sams is pleased to announce that Herling Romero, an associate of the firm, has been selected to join the 2023-2024 Massachusetts Bar Association’s Leadership Academy. Herling will continue the firm’s presence within the Leadership Academy and joins both past and present colleagues aspiring to assume leadership roles within the legal community.

Herling is a commercial litigator with a focus on construction, employment, and business disputes and has a passion for advocacy and providing access to justice.

“I want to continue to expand my footprint in the Massachusetts Bar as a representative for the largely unrepresented Latino community, and I hope to hone my leadership skills to expand access to the legal profession to those who do not consider it, despite having the skillset to become excellent lawyers,” Herling said.

“I also want to be a steward for the transition and succession planning between the current established leaders of our bar to my generation, and ultimately assist in the transition from my generation to the next generation to ensure the MBA remains a standard bearer for excellence in the practice of law. Additionally, I want to develop connections to my colleagues and contemporaries and work collaboratively to keep moving the Massachusetts Bar forward.”

Herling received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 2013 and his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2018 where he served as the chief operating officer for the school’s innovative Intellectual Property Law Clinic.

To be considered for inclusion in the MBA’s Leadership Academy, candidates are required to be active MBA members in good standing and have been practicing for three to 10 years.
