Our attorneys have represented numerous contractors, and their insurers, on such projects as the Central Artery/Tunnel Project and Logan Airport Modernization Projects. Our attorneys have also handled general liability defense work for large public and quasi-public entities throughout the state and are often appointed by insurers to represent their insureds in general liability litigation matters.
Representative Insurance Law Cases
- Obtained a $1,000,000.00 settlement for our client a major airport operator, by creatively advocating in Federal Court for business interruption coverage under a commercial property insurance policy despite the absence of any damage to our client’s insured property. The judge agreed with our argument that the policy’s coverage trigger was overbroad and should be construed against the insurer because it drafted the policy.
- Successfully counterclaimed against a plaintiff driver and recovered sufficient funds from her auto policy to settle plaintiff’s claims against our client, who was an underinsured driver accused of negligently causing major personal injury to the plaintiff.
- Regularly counsel contractors and real estate developers in indemnification and surety bond claims.
