David T. Keenan

David is a litigator with extensive trial and appellate experience at both the federal and state level. While his practice focuses on legal issues related to private and public construction projects, he also has experience handling commercial landlord/tenant, toxic tort litigation, and personal injury defense.
Before joining Kenney & Sams, David worked for Quinlan & Sadowski and the City of Boston. Prior to his legal career, David spent time as a merchant mariner and a geospatial intelligence analyst. He also served in the United States Coast Guard where he was the noncommissioned officer-in-charge of search and rescue crews.
David earned his JD from Suffolk University Law School where he was awarded the American College of Trial Lawyers Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Medal for Excellence in Advocacy at the National Moot Court Competition. He earned his BS in Maritime Transportation from Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he was awarded the Boston Shipping Association Award for Academic Excellence.
David is an avid sailor and competes in many local and regional regattas. He is an active member of his community and volunteers as a judge for high school, undergraduate, and law school mock trial competitions.
